Spring Fire and Drumming Jam, September 2011
Spring Fire and Drumming Jam took place on Bondi Beach. It was a perfect spot for such spectacular event: beach, sand, ocean, night lights, drums, fire and fascinating atmosphere.
I heard about similar events many time and only now had a chance to attend one. It was a fire, light and drum gathering of very brave, talented and just very cool people. They were signing, playing drums and fire dancing.
I don’t have much experience in photographing fire or light drawings, but I absolutely love the process of taking such pictures and then looking at the result and trying to find some pictures with cool fire drawings.
The fact that long shutter speed allows to freeze the fire movement and let a person do some kind of blind drawings with fire in the night sky is amazing.
Photographing fire dancing in the dark I was looking for great fire silhouettes, shapes, characters or just anything that would touch my mind and make me imagine something unreal and magical.
I loved the photographs where a person is visible near or inside of the fire drawings. It just adds this cool detail and makes the picture even more interesting.
I’m looking forward to attending similar events again to practice my night and light photography skills and get even more interesting, exciting and cool light and fire photos as the result.
It is really great that there are people organizing such fire, light and drumming events and in particular it is simply amazing that there are people who take part in them and make our life brighter and more exciting.

I like the way the fire line draws around his body and the way this man is nicely seen right inside. It is magical how you can freeze the movement of the fire and capture...

Absolutely love this fire photograph. I like the way this person is positioned between two fire rings. It just makes you think.. what happens next.

A very nice picture with a fire disc that a person is trying to hold back or touch, whaterver you can think of.

The gril's body is nicely lighted and the fire lines around her turned out so cool. You can see every detail fo the fire on this photograph.

This is another photoraph of fire drawings. Two people this time are making these beautiful fire drawings.

One of my favourites. It reminds me of a person trying to escape from the fire net. It is hot and tangled.

I love the combination of fire and light drawings on that photograph. Even though my camera obviously shaked at some point I got some nice light lines at the end.

A girl dancing with a glowing hoop looks very nice on that night beach photograph. This was the only moment I could catch her not moving so I got a pretty good seen...

This picture makes me think of a warrior carrying a fire shield expressing his strength and greatness to the person standing in front of him.

This shape reminds me of a whale with a head on the right and a tale on the left. A cute smiling fire whale photograph.

Another fire dancing photograph. I just loved the way the fire line appear on the picture, very sharp and nice.

This person walked with a swinging motion of his fire torches. It reminds me of a little fire boat that he is trying to hold on to.

Very interesting how it all looks on the photograph. This man was spinning and rolling his fire torches and this is what I've got.

This photograph makes me think of a person who is unsure if he is ready to go through he fire ring or may be he is just looking through the round fire window.

He is definitely trying to catch this pretty fire butterfly. I like the way his hands are touching the fire.

Just another photograph of a person drawing with fire. This is one of the ways to create an interesting picture combining a person and fire.

To me.. this story is about a man (at the front) catching the other person (at the back) with hot fire rings. Look at the body language of the person at the back.

For someone it is just letter E written with a fire torch. To me it is a little balloon flying around a person.

On of many fire dancing photographs. I like how the fire rings are crossed and two hands are pointing at each of them.

Very nice fire lines and it seems that this girl was juggling the fire balls, throwing one higher than the others.

A very interesting fire drawing, I have no idea what it looks like but it still looks very fascinating to me. There is something special about it.
